Celebrating World Friendship Day 2025 at MAK Community Care

Celebrating World Friendship Day 2025 at MAK Community Care
30 July 2025William WinderNews

30th July 2025 marks World Friendship Day, a global celebration of the bonds that unite individuals, communities, and cultures. Recognised by the United Nations, the day encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to embrace friendship as a pathway to peace, empathy, and shared understanding.

At MAK Community Care, we see every day how powerful friendships can be. They bring joy, ease loneliness, and support emotional wellbeing,  especially for people who may otherwise feel isolated or disconnected.

This year, we’re marking International Day of Friendship with activities across our homes and supported living services to inspire connection and celebrate companionship. From friendly chats and group get-togethers to messages of gratitude and kindness, we’re creating space for people to connect and feel included.

Why Friendship Matters

Friendship helps break down barriers, build trust, and reduce feelings of isolation. It plays a vital role in promoting inclusion, supporting mental health, and strengthening communities – values that are at the core of MAK’s work.

How You Can Get Involved

There are many simple yet meaningful ways to join in the celebration:

  • Reach out to a friend or neighbour
  • Make time for a catch-up or shared activity
  • Welcome someone new into your community
  • Share a positive message on social media
  • Support organisations that promote inclusion and friendship

Let’s make World Friendship Day 2025 a day to reflect, reconnect, and celebrate the friendships that lift us up.
